教宗每月的祈禱意向：
天父，求你遣發你的聖神今天整天陪伴著我。藉著聖神的援助，讓我今天的思、言、行為都能顯現你的光榮與讚頌。請幫我與不受服事，而服事人的耶穌基督合而為一。我與聖母瑪利亞及普世教會一起為教宗的意向祈求。耶穌聖心，我靠了瑪利亞貞潔無玷的心，將我今天的祈禱、工作、喜樂和痛苦都獻給你，為補贖我們的罪過，為成就你在祭台上時時刻刻奉獻的旨意，特別為本月內教宗託我們代禱的意向祈禱：
2009年5月份
總祈禱意向：願平信徒和基督徒團體欣然負起責任，推動司鐸及修道生活聖召。
※‧ That the laity and Christian communities may embrace their responsibility for promoting vocations to the priesthood and religious life.
福傳意向：願新建立的各地天主教會，對天主所賜信仰感恩之餘，迅速參與教會的普遍使命，現出他們的能力來向全世界宣揚福音。
※‧ In response to the Lord for the gift of fauth, may the more recently established Catholic communities generously participate in the university mission of the Church to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
