教宗每月的祈禱意向：
天父，求你遣發你的聖神今天整天陪伴著我。藉著聖神的援助，讓我今天的思、言、行為都能顯現你的光榮與讚頌。請幫我與不受服事，而服事人的耶穌基督合而為一。我與聖母瑪利亞及普世教會一起為教宗的意向祈求。耶穌聖心，我靠了瑪利亞貞潔無玷的心，將我今天的祈禱、工作、喜樂和痛苦都獻給你，為補贖我們的罪過，為成就你在祭台上時時刻刻奉獻的旨意，特別為本月內教宗託我們代禱的意向祈禱：
2009年2月份
總祈禱意向：使教會的所有牧人，在訓導與服務天主子民上，日益順從聖神的行動。
※‧ That the Church's pastors may be ever more docile to the action of the Holy Spirit as they teach and serve the People of God.
福傳意向：使非洲教會遵照世界主教代表第二屆特別會議針對非洲所做的指示，能找到有效地推動修和、正義與和平的路途和相稱工具。
※‧ Guided by the Second Special Assembly of the African Synod of Bishops, may the local Church find adequate ways and means to effectively promote reconciliation, justice and peace.
